Mastering The Second Half LLC is a Broadcasting & Media Production Company based in Miami, Florida. It primarily operates a YouTube channel of the same name which is an Over-50 Lifestyle Show which focuses on Travel, Motivation, and Experiences. Hosted by Rick Higgins, the channel highlights opportunities and examples of living the best we can after a certain age. 

There is also a second channel which documents the first one. Called Zero-100, it’s all about the journey of creating a YouTube channel, taking advice from “experts”, and chronicling the hopeful path to success.

Rick Higgins is an Author, Multimedia Creator, and Life Coach. He hosts a successful lifestyle YouTube channel called MASTERING THE SECOND HALF & BREAK FREE! and is the creator of the online self-development book ‘ 21 Days Towards Life Mastery‘.

Rick was born in Alexandria, Virginia in 1961 and currently resides (mostly) in Miami, Florida. He has two adult children and is in a committed relationship. Aside from YouTube, his passions include volunteerism, adventure travel, and anything that can possibly get him into trouble.

TARGET AUDIENCE

Our target audience is primarily couples who are interested in opportunities that travel and new experiences can provide now that they’re no longer focusing on careers, the day-to-day raising of families, and other aspects of their previous lives.  They are aged 55+, have achieved higher education and are financially comfortable.

They are planning on specific travel but are open to other opportunities, and enjoy the overall experience.  They tend to be more adventurous than most and lean primarily towards liberal politics. They care as much about a culture as a destination, and want to understand how their travel impacts.

They are also looking for connections with a larger community.

WHO WATCHES AND WHY

While the audience expects to learn more about certain travel destinations from watching our videos, then want even more to understand the hidden and cultural aspects of where they are traveling. They want to pre-experience the feeling of being in a place or doing a thing.

They want to be entertained as much, if not more, than they are educated. Watching our videos is a large part of their travel and life experience, not just preparation for it.

They want a trusted “friend” who can be their surrogate. They want to feel a connection. They want to experience the emotions of the transition into the next phase of their lives and feel like they have a close example of someone like themselves.

VALUE PROPOSITION AND SACRED WORDS

“Mastering The Second Half” continues to be an overriding theme, as the channel is focused on couples (and individuals) who want to transition into a new life as their old ones are winding down. And they want to own and drive that transition, not simply follow it as it flows.  Mastering The Second Half is living by example, both for them and for us.

“Break Free” also continues to be a primary theme, meaning the transition into post-55+ life is a conscious and deliberate effort. It symbolizes a new start, well away from the norms expected by society. It reinforces the audience’s rebellious tendencies.

“Providing 55+ couples information and entertainment, via travel and life experiences, to live their fullest lives possible”.

ZERO-100 – A CREATORS JOURNEY with Rick Higgins

There are a gazillion channels telling one how to grow as a new YouTube Creator, but not so many telling you what it’s like to actually do it. It sounds so easy, doesn’t it? Simply do X, Y, and Z in that order and millions of subscribers will be heading your way! Well … maybe yes and maybe (probably) no. Sadly, a lot of these channels have moved so far past their own initial stages that they can only look through the lens of their own success. Something the rest of us are still seeking. But there is hope.

Zero-100 is our secondary channel chronicling our journey from a small YouTube entity into a (hopefully) successful one. 

TARGET AUDIENCE

Our target audience is primarily comprised of small and new YouTube Creators who are also struggling to gain traction with their channels. They are trying to learn via online “experts” but are not always seeing the gains they hoped for. YouTube is a lonely place for new creators so they are looking for real-world experiences and like-minded folks to compare journeys.
